The Time Has Come - March For Science

The Time Has Come

Friends,

With the election of Joseph R. Biden as the next President of the United States, Americans have elected a commander-in-chief who embraces science-informed, evidence-based public policy. It’s an enormous victory for the entire world.

Following last night’s speeches by Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris and President-Elect Joe Biden, March For Science announced that we are launching a political action committee. Since our inception, we have operated as a fiscally-sponsored non-profit, which has come with many constraints; namely, that we cannot spend more than 20% of our budget on advocacy.

Considering what is at stake especially with the climate crisis and the pandemic, the sense of urgency to improve our response to both, and the influence we’ve been privileged to accrue over the years– we feel that the time has come to ask for your help so that we can take the gloves off, step into the ring, and properly get involved.

What we need from you:

* Let us know the ways you’d be open to getting involved AND help inform our priorities moving forward: HERE

* If you are in a position to make a contribution, you may kindly do so HERE. We have intentionally refrained from asking our community for financial support for years; we wanted to wait until the time was right. We firmly believe that the time is now.

March For Science believes that science is at the intersection of all social movements. Let’s work together to ensure maximum impact comes with this critical transfer of power.

In solidarity,
The March For Science Team
